3D Elastic Wave Simulations - EFIT

The elastodynamics finite integration technique (EFIT) is a stable and accurate time-domain simulation method for modeling elastic waves in solids.  We have implemented several versions of the elastic finite integration technique in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinates in both two and three dimensions to study elastic wave propagation and scattering.  One of our latest versions is being used to simulate 3D guided elastic waves in pipes including 3D pipe bends.  Applications of EFIT include nondestructive evaluation, acoustic microscopy, seismic modeling, and some medical imaging techniques.
